Command line

Every NOESIS command-line option. Run them as noesis-app OPTIONS, or through cargo with cargo run -p noesis-app --release -- OPTIONS. With no options, the GUI opens.

Discovery and devices#

CommandResult
--discoverPrints the capability matrix and every discovered device.
--discover-jsonThe same, as JSON (devices, capabilities).
--probeOne live reading of every pollable sensor.
--list-audioAudio endpoints with IDs, input/output rates and defaults.
--ble-scan NPassive Bluetooth LE scan for N seconds (1–30). Prints counts and the RSSI range only.

Headless sessions#

These record a short session without the GUI, then replay it and print a summary.

CommandSession
--simulateSynthetic AcousticTransfer session (4 trials × 3 s), then replay. Expect pulse=… 71.0….
--hardware-smokeReal microphone, camera and all telemetry, Baseline, no sound output. Add --no-telemetry for microphone and camera only.
--audio-smokePlays a 250 ms, very quiet 440 Hz tone and records it.
--missing-camera-smokeConfirms a missing camera is reported without a crash.
--loopback-simSynthetic latency calibration; reports exactly 12.000 ms.
--loopback-smokeReal latency calibration with quiet broadband noise.

Overrides for any headless command:

OptionEffect
--input-device IDAudio input endpoint (IDs from --list-audio).
--output-device IDAudio output endpoint.
--rate NExact sample rate.
--storage DIRSave sessions in DIR instead of sessions/.
--no-telemetryDisables system, Wi-Fi, motion, gamepad and evdev telemetry.

Session tools#

CommandResult
--replay SESSIONRe-analyzes a session and prints rate, RMS, pulse, active interfaces, telemetry channels, display timing and reaction results.
--export-features SESSION OUT.jsonlExports derived features and notes to JSON Lines (never overwrites).
--latency SESSIONRecomputes and stores the loopback latency, prints the JSON report and summary.
--synthesize SESSION [--storage OUT]Regenerates Synthesis into a new session under OUT (default synthesis-sessions).

RTL-SDR commands#

CommandResult
--rf-estimateWindows, bins per window, sweep time and storage rate of each profile for the default span.
--rf-simRecords a simulated RF-only session (labelled SIMULATED) with Synthesis.
--rf-smokeRecords a real RF-only session with Synthesis.
--rf-summary SESSIONJSON summary of a recorded survey.
--rf-export SESSION SWEEP OUT.csvExports the assembled bins of one sweep.

Options for --rf-sim and --rf-smoke:

OptionValues (default)
--rf-min HZ / --rf-max HZSpan (99 000 000 – 105 000 000)
--rf-seconds SSession length (8)
--rf-library PATHAbsolute librtlsdr path
--rf-profilefast, balanced, high (balanced)
--rf-orderascending, descending, serpentine, randomized (ascending)
--rf-iqperiodic, peaks, change (off); periodic keeps every 5th window
--rf-assume-v3Confirms RTL-SDR Blog V3 HF wiring
--with-audioAlso records the microphone
noesis-app --rf-smoke --rf-library "C:\SDR\rtlsdr.dll" --rf-min 88000000 --rf-max 108000000 \
           --rf-seconds 120 --rf-order serpentine --rf-iq peaks --storage rf-sessions

GUI checks#

CommandResult
--gui-smokeOpens the GUI with a real live monitor (nothing recorded), captures Dashboard, Live Monitor, Recording, Experiments, Hardware and Settings to docs/screenshots/ and closes (~13 s).
--visual-smokeShows a short drifting-grating session, saves docs/screenshots/stimulus.png and closes.
Note

Visual and reaction-time protocols require the GUI and are refused by headless commands.
