Sessions, replay & export

Every recording is saved as a self-contained session folder. The Sessions workspace indexes them, shows their health and replays any session to recompute all analysis from the raw data.

Session index#

  1. Open Sessions and click Refresh session index. NOESIS reads the session folder named in Session location.

  2. Each session appears as a card:

    • age · experiment (for example 3 min ago · Baseline);
    • a status pill — see below — and a SIMULATION pill for simulated sessions;
    • duration, record count and size on disk;
    • the list of recorded sources, and any error;
    • the folder path when Technical Details are on.

Session status#

StatusMeaning
COMPLETEFinished with no lost data and no device errors.
COMPLETE WITH GAPSSome records were dropped (acquisition or recorder). Counts are in the session's final session-end event. Treat it as an incomplete dataset.
COMPLETE WITH DEVICE ERRORSNo records were lost, but a device reported callback errors during the session.
RECORDINGThe session is still being written, or it was interrupted before it could be closed.

Replay a session#

  1. Click Replay / reanalyze on the session's card.

  2. The header switches to REPLAY · REAL RECORDING (or REPLAY · SIMULATION). NOESIS reads the raw streams faster than real time and recomputes every analysis.

  3. View the results on Analysis, the Dashboard and the readings tables of Hardware, where streamed interfaces appear as ACTIVE.

Note

Replay never opens sensors and never plays stimuli. For frame-accurate scrubbing, annotations and visual analysis, open the session in NOESISReader.

From the terminal, noesis-app --replay sessions/session-ID prints a summary: active interfaces, every telemetry channel with count and last value, display timing and reaction results.

Export derived features#

Export every derived frame and your logged notes to JSON Lines:

noesis-app --export-features sessions/session-ID features.jsonl

The first line holds the session configuration; each following line is one derived record or user note. The command refuses to overwrite an existing file.
