First recording

Record, inspect and replay a complete session using synthetic data, then repeat it with real hardware.

5 minutesNo hardware required

Simulated session#

  1. Launch NOESIS and open Hardware. The Overview capability matrix lists what this computer can do. Wait for the footer to read Ready.

  2. Open Recording. In Recording setup, tick Simulation (synthetic microphone/speaker/camera).

  3. Set Experiment to AcousticTransfer. Leave Duration on Protocol schedule.

  4. Click START RECORDING. The banner turns red and counts seconds.

  5. While it runs, visit Live Monitor and Analysis to watch the microphone, spectrum, correlation and transfer plots fill in.

  6. When the header reads RECORDED · SIMULATION, open Sessions, click Refresh session index, then Replay / reanalyze on the newest card.

Tip

Open the same session folder in NOESISReader to scrub it on a synchronized timeline.

Real-hardware session#

  1. Turn the system output volume low.

  2. On Recording, untick Simulation and tick I consent to local recording; output volume is low. START RECORDING stays disabled until consent is ticked.

  3. Choose the sources to capture in Data sources (or click a preset such as All Available Sources). Check the Recording summary for the estimated disk use.

  4. Pick an Experiment (use Baseline for a plain recording with no stimulus) and click START RECORDING.

  5. Type into Perception / annotation and click Log note to timestamp anything you notice.

  6. Click ■ STOP RECORDING (or wait for the schedule to finish). The session is saved in sessions/session-<id>/.
