Set up rumble#
Connect a game controller that supports rumble. Open Hardware → Controllers and confirm it is AVAILABLE (click Refresh discovery after plugging it in).
Choose the motor: Strong (low-frequency, usually left), Weak (high-frequency, usually right) or Both.
Set intensity (0–1, fraction of the controller's own maximum), pulse Hz (0–50; 0 = continuous) and pulse duty (0.05–0.95).
Click Test rumble 250 ms to feel the setting. It is sent to the selected (or first) rumble-capable controller.
Run haptic trials#
On Experiments, choose
HapticStimulus.Set trial seconds, inter-trial seconds, trial count, jitter and randomization. Sham trials send no rumble.
Optionally record the gamepad, microphone and keyboard (all optional for this protocol).
Start. Every rumble command is logged with its submission time, trial, on/off durations and motor magnitudes.
In Simulation a clearly labelled simulated device is used, but the protocol still requires a real rumble-capable controller to be present.
Tick Record controller buttons/axes in sessions on the same page to log controller input alongside the rumble commands.
