Inspector

The Inspector answers three questions at any moment: what is every stream's value at the cursor, where did a stream come from, and what exactly was recorded around this time.

The Inspector has four tabs: Cursor, Stream, Raw data and Session.

Cursor tab#

The cursor time (timecode and exact seconds) followed by every stream's value at that instant, grouped by category, each with its class badge and units. Values that were not recorded at that time read Not recorded in amber — never zero. Click any row to select that stream and open its Stream tab.

Stream tab#

Everything known about the selected stream:

SectionFields
IdentityDisplay name, class badge, stream ID, source, device, hardware, physical quantity, units, sample type, channels, nominal rate, time range, sample count, spatial meaning.
TimingClock domain, what each timestamp marks, conversion applied, timing uncertainty.
Data qualityModality-specific metrics (for example dropped blocks, gaps, clipping, constant channels, jitter), each gap, and notes. Warnings in amber.
ProvenanceNOESIS classification, algorithm, version, simulated flag, quality and confidence, role, parent streams.
Processing history / lineageEvery transformation from the recorded source to this stream.
Available visualizersEvery visualizer that can show this stream.
RF (SDR) summaryFor RF streams: coverage, sweeps, scan mode, resolution and an Open RF / Radio workspace button.
Synthesis feature lineageFor Synthesis features: the lineage tree; click an entry to select that stream.
Visualizer compatibility● compatible visualizers (with the role this stream fills) and ○ incompatible ones with the reason.

Raw data tab#

  1. Select a stream. The tab lists raw samples within ±1 s of the cursor, or within the selection if one exists (up to 2000 rows).

  2. Columns: time, time in nanoseconds, the original NOESIS timestamp in seconds, values (with units) and extra fields.

  3. Rows within 5 ms of the cursor are highlighted. Click a row to seek to it. Click Refresh after moving the cursor.

Session tab#

Recording path, NOESIS schema and software version, status (amber unless complete), experiment, duration, fingerprint, project file, cache and log paths, the ingest Diagnostics (errors, warnings and notes per stream) and Extra metadata. Simulated sessions are flagged at the top.
