Common problems#
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Open Session reports no recording | Select the session-<id> folder itself — the one that contains index.sqlite — not its parent. |
| “project file was written by a newer NoesisReader” | Update NOESISReader, or move the .noesisreader file aside to start a fresh project. |
| A view says “Visualization unavailable…” | The recording lacks the input it names. Record it in NOESIS, or use another view. The Layers panel's All visualizers list shows every reason. |
| Resonance or Shockwave is empty | Run detectors first (Analysis panel → Detectors). |
| No sound during playback | Check the Audio mixer: Original Audio not muted, another bus not soloed, gain above zero. Audio plays at 1× speed. |
| Keyboard shortcuts do nothing | Click the timeline once to give it focus. Space works everywhere. |
| Video export unavailable | The build has no FFmpeg. Use a build with FFmpeg, or export PNG / data instead. |
| Rendered video is black or incomplete | Keep the NOESISReader window visible and unminimized during the render. |
| Slow first load of a long session | Level-of-detail caches are built on first open and reused afterwards. |
| Displays look stale after changing data | Analysis → Clear cache; caches are rebuilt from the recording. |
| Panels missing | Restore them from View, or View → Reset layout. |
| An undocked panel window is lost | Close it from the taskbar (it re-docks), or reset the layout. |
| RF band track missing from Correlation | Band tracks appear in stream lists once added; select Add band track in the RF workspace first. |
Logs#
NOESISReader writes a structured JSON-lines log. Its path is shown on the Inspector's Session tab (on Windows, under %LOCALAPPDATA%\NOESIS\NoesisReader).
